| Properties
Sree Rayalaseema Stable Bleaching Powder (SRSBP) has valuable properties that find applications in various industrial and day-to-day activities.
Salient Features Of Our Stable Bleaching Powder
- It is a strong bleaching agent, removes impurities and adds luster to materials.
- It acts as an anti-bacterial and anti-microbial agent.
- It is a disinfectant and a deodorizing agent, which actively reduces B.O.D (Biological
Oxygen Demand) concentration in water.
- It readily combines with hazardous chemicals like Cyanide to form harmless compounds.
- It possesses germicidal properties. And controls growth of algae.
Applications
Sree Rayalaseema Stable Bleaching Powder (SRSBP) due to its multi-dimensional properties finds ready application in a range of industries. Apart from its usage in the Textile, Paper, Leather and Sugar industries it satisfies a crucial requirement in aquaculture.
Industrial Uses
Textile Industry: Used in bleaching cotton, cotton yarn & hemp.
Aquaculture Industry: In disinfecting seawater by chlorination.
Paper Industry: For bleaching wood pulp and straw.
Leather Industry: In curing raw hides and also for extra shine.
Sugar Industry: For disinfecting vessels.
Aquaculture Sea Water Purification
SRSBP kills bacteria and other microorganisms by penetrating the organisms cell
wall and reacting with the enzymatic system without affecting the shrimps / prawns.
For efficient germicidal action the excess available chlorine should be maintained at 10 ppm after the bacteria has been killed. However, other conditions such as temperature, duration of contact, pH value, type and concentration of organisms have a bearing on quality of seawater for aqua farms.
Use of SRSBP for chlorination of seawater decreases the mortality rate of shrimps / prawns and will also result in hygienic products for exports.
General Uses
Swimming Pools: SRSBP finds application in swimming pools as a disinfectant and cleaning agent, apart from controlling algae.
Water purification: Widely used as a disinfectant and deodorizing agent to reduce B.O.D (Biological Oxygen Demand) concentration in water.
Sewage treatment: Enables hazardous effluents such as Cyanide from escaping into atmosphere by forming compounds.
Hospitals, Hotels and Homes: Used for sterilizing linen and also removal of stains etc.
